According to TMZ, a judge said Rosie O’Donnell will not have to submit to random drug testing. However, the custody battle still continues between Rosie and Michelle Rounds. Rounds says she is going back to court because she believes 2-year-old Dakota is in danger.
“A New York judge threw out the demand made by Rosie’s estranged wife Michelle Rounds. The judge hearing the bitter custody case is satisfied that Rosie O’Donnell is a capable parent.”
Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds announced in February that they were getting divorced. Michelle is fighting for sole custody of their adopted daughter. Michelle claims Rosie indulges in alcohol and weed, which makes her not capable of taking care of their adopted daughter. Rosie has claimed that Michelle is a liar, and her only motive is to get money from her.
The judge refused to add any conditions to the current agreement in which both women share equal custody of Dakota. The presiding judge felt that Michelle’s unfit parent claim was unwarranted, and he was leaving the custody agreement in place without any modifications at this time.
“The judge’s decision was that he believes Rosie is a capable parent.”
The Daily Mail reported that the judge did give advice to both Rosie, 53, and Michelle, 43. He advised both of them not to talk to the media about the custody case. Additionally, he advised both of them to refrain from posting comments and photos relating to the children on social media. Rosie has always been fond of social media. Over the years, she has blogged and posted pictures of all her children. She will probably feel the effects of this order more than Michelle.
Michelle has reportedly given several interviews to entertainment shows publicizing her grievances while Rosie has posted photos on Instagram and Twitter, including one of Dakota with her hand in the air with the caption, “Don’t I get a vote?”
It will be interesting to see how long these two women will follow the judge’s order. In the meantime, Michelle is vowing that she will not back down, and she intends to go back to court for the safety of Dakota.
While the two women are in a bitter custody battle, there are reports that they have gone on their separate ways romantically.
Do you think the judge made the right decision in saying it was not necessary to drug test Rosie?
