‘Daddy Come Home. Some Guy Tried To Rape Me’: Terrified 13-Year-Old Girl Texts Father After Fighting Off Attacker Who Forced Himself Into Home [Video]

A 13-year-old girl of San Jose, California hid in the closet and texted her father “Daddy come home. Some guy tried to rape me,” moments after fighting off a man who broke into her home.

According to Daily Mail, a teen girl – whose name has not been released to the public — was walking home from school on Tuesday when an unidentified man – who officials believe is in his 30’s — began following her.

As she approached her front door, the man pretended to be lost and wanted directions from her. The teen obligingly answered the man’s questions, but when he began asking inappropriate questions, she knew something wasn’t quite right, which is why she “decided to run inside the house.”

“I tried to slam the door on him but I couldn’t,” the teen said.

Surveillance cameras at the home captured the very second the man began following the young teen outside, as well as in the home as the two broke out into a brawl.

In the footage, the girl is seen hitting her attacker in the face as she fell to the floor. She climbs to her feet, then glares at her attacker while slowly backing away. The man remains at the front door, but seems indecisive about what to do. He’s seen opening the front door, then closing it back seconds later.

The man rummaged through his cross body bag, then scratched his head just before leaving the home. As soon as he exits, the teen quickly hid in the closet and texted her dad, “Daddy come home. Some guy tried to rape me.”

California police later arrived at the home where they viewed the surveillance tape. They recognized the unidentified man, and believes he was involved in another sexual assault on a 28-year-old woman that occurred in April.

Apparently, the man tried to sexually assault the woman inside of a restroom at a Japanese grocery store. He fled the scene shortly before police arrival.

“Without a doubt,” Sgt. Enrique Garcia told reporters at ABC News who is with the San Jose Police Department. “These guys are predators.”

“He’s not concerned about being caught, since he’s doing this in broad daylight.”

“Back at home, the 13-year-old said she was relieved to be safe.”

“I’m really happy I’m safe,” the teenager said, “but I’m still really scared. I’m really low on trusting the outside world anymore.”

[UPDATE] Investigators have now identified the man as 31-year-old Mohammad Khaliqi of San Jose, and have him in custody where he’s facing burglary and attempted sexual assault charges.
