‘RHOA’ Claudia Jordan Claims She Was Victim Of Racism, Harrassed By Mall Security Over Sunglasses

Claudia Jordan is going through some very real drama off The Real Housewives of Atlanta. On Friday evening, Claudia, who is currently in Opelika, Alabama to see Ginuwine perform, claimed that she was harassed because of the color of her skin at the Auburn Mall in nearby Auburn.

Claudia put up an Instagram post that said that she and others with her were followed and harassed by mall security, on the excuse that wearing sunglasses in the mall was prohibited.

“What kind of BS us this?!!!!! This was the second security guard that the other white security guard sent to ‘handle us’ after the first one harassed us 1 minute after we walked thru the door of the AUBURN mall. He followed us demanding I take my sunglasses off. There were no signs stating ‘sunglasses were prohibited’ this was so blatant. I thought it was a joke at first then s**t got real.”

In a second post, Claudia reiterated that there were no signs saying that wearing sunglasses indoors was not allowed and that there were others, Caucasian patrons, who wore sunglasses without any trouble. She outright accused the mall of racism.

“Never go to the Auburn Mall if you’re a minority and you chose to wear sun glasses. Clearly it’s against the law if you are black. Meanwhile we saw 2 white women and a white man wearing sunglasses who were not harassed or even approached. There were no signs saying that sun glasses were not allowed. Please do NOT tell me racism is dead. I’m a classy, educated women with no criminal record simply wanting to shop in the local mall who was harassed by punk a** mall security and police were called. The message is clear- our KIND was not welcomed here and they are willing to use any excuse to get us all the way up outta there. Way to go Auburn Mall!”

Since joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Claudia Jordan has been very vocal about race issues. In an interview with S2S Magazine in November 2014, Claudia, whose mother is Italian and father is African-American, talked about experiencing racism growing up, which included getting hit in the face with a skateboard by a white boy who called her mom “a n***er lover.” When asked what she’ll share with viewers in her premiere season, Claudia said that she has also felt rejected by African-Americans because she’s biracial.

“…some of my struggles as a Black woman, and I’m also biracial and that’s something that we really could speak more about and get into and some of the things I have to deal with with other women and sometimes feeling out of place and rejected by my people that I love and that comes from both sides at times, and it’s kind of painful for me. I share that.”

During the housewives’ vacation in Puerto Rico, Claudia’s biracial background actually became an insult when NeNe Leakes, during an intense argument with Claudia, called her a “half-breed,” as well as a whore.

“You’ve been f****d by everybody in Hollywood. They done wore that out b***h…What you got, this half-breed s**t? That’s not in Atlanta. They ain’t looking for you. You’re a whore, you done slept with everybody, they don’t want you. Your clit has left your body!”

NeNe later apologized to Claudia in person during the trip and later on in her The Real Housewives of Atlanta blog. Yet Claudia isn’t afraid to keep going after NeNe. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Claudia Jordan, in mid-March, said that her “read” of NeNe in Puerto Rico was just “a warm up” and that she expects to be able to top that in the future.
