Tim McGraw Talks CrossFit, Metabolism-Boosting Tricks, And Faith Hill Divorce Rumors [Video]

Tim McGraw is just a regular hey-y’all country guy, with a few exceptions. He’s a legendary musician who has developed a passion for staying in shape with the tough approach known as CrossFit, reported Taste of Country.

In addition, McGraw is careful about what he eats. He recognizes that carbohydrates can add on the pounds at 46, but Tim is modest about his efforts in staying fit.

“You watch what you eat a little bit and try to work out as much as you can,” he drawled. “Try to stay active more than anything.”

He’s a fan of tuna and chicken, and he does eat oatmeal. On his list of foods to avoid and try to resist are the simple ones: bread, beef, and butter.

“I love cheeseburgers. A couple times a week, I have to have a cheeseburger or pizza. And I love bread. That’s the hardest thing to lay off of: bread and butter,” sighed Tim regretfully.

As to why he chose CrossFit?

“That’s one of my favorite things to do, because I have a short attention span, so I can switch exercises really quickly if I get tired of one,” said McGraw.

But he doesn’t work out alone. Tim’s entire crew has become CrossFit fans. In addition, McGraw enjoys playing basketball with his beloved wife, Faith Hill.

As the Inquisitr reported, Chris Pratt also is a fan of CrossFit and low-carb diets. The actor used the combination of exercise and diet to lose 60 pounds and keep them off, sticking to a Paleo diet for fast weight loss results.

While Tim is determined to stick to his own approach, he’s well-aware that he doesn’t fit the country music dude stereotype, reported the New York Daily News.

“It’s almost anti-country singers, but one of my favorite things is a kale salad (with) all kinds of things in it: walnuts, pumpkin seeds, parmesan cheese, olive oil, lemon,” admitted McGraw.

He’s also aware that sprinkling peppers on his food boosts his metabolism, a trick that he insists works to help keep his weight in check.

As for all those rumors that he and Faith are splitting up?

“It’s nothing to us — just noise,” scoffs McGraw.

Instead, he has faith in Faith and country music.

“Country music has been on a steady growth pattern for a long time. I certainly think there’s a big youth movement, and it goes through cycles. I’ve been in it long enough that I can recognize cycles when they happen, and I’ve been in a couple cycles.”
