Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt’s ‘By The Sea’ Hits Theaters In November

The last time we saw Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt together in a movie was way back in 2005 when they paired up for Mr. and Mrs. Smith. A decade ago, Jolie and Pitt were not yet a couple. Now, 10 years and six kids after, the two return together on screen for the first time as a married couple.

Jolie and Pitt’s new film By the Sea will be released by Universal Pictures on November 13. The movie was written, directed and produced by no other than Jolie herself.

Jolie described her masterpiece.

“This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance. It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.”

Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley also spoke of Jolie and Pitt‘s new movie and she related that By the Sea will surely exceed expectations. She explained, “Angie and Brad have created an intimate gem of a film that will surprise people and delivers an experience they might not expect from them.”

By the Sea follows the journey of two American expats, a writer named Roland (Pitt) and his wife Vanessa (Jolie). With a crumbling marriage, the two moved to a picturesque seaside resort set in 1970s France where they meet a number of people who changed their lives.

As they built relationships with their new neighbors, newlyweds played by Melanie Laurent and Melvil Poupaud, and locals played by Niels Arestrup and Richard Bohringer, Roland (Pitt) and Vanessa (Jolie) eventually resolved the issues affecting their marriage.

Moreover, a press release revealed that the movie took its inspiration from European cinema and theater of the ’60s and the ’70s. It is to be expected that By the Sea‘s themes, styling and setting will be based on these two eras.

The movie is also Universal Studios’ bet against several movies which are scheduled to open at the same time. Also opening on November are Warner Bros.’ survival drama “The 33”, Paramount’s horror flick “Rings” and Open Road’s musical “Rock the Kasbah.”
