Adorable Puppy Is Killed By Seagulls In Her Own Yard

Nikki Wayne, who moved from Canada to Honiton, Devon, watched the seagulls in the area become more brazen and aggressive. It was reminiscent of a scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s movie The Birds, as the seagulls swooped into her garden and tried to attack her beloved Chihuahua, Bella. Bella was a sweet, playful five-month-old puppy, unaware of the dangers that flitted above her. Nikki said that the seagulls were even bold with her, stating the following, according to METRO.

“I got really worried about it. They started to swoop down to my face level, brushing me.”

Like a horror movie, Wayne would watch the seagulls perch on her roof, watching the tiny Chihuahua. She decided to seek advice and asked a veterinarian what to do, and they said the following, according to the Daily Mail.

“I called my vets and they said I should make sure I go out with her every moment she went outside in my back yard.”

So Wayne diligently observed her pup every time Bella went outside. She made certain that the door was always shut tight so that Bella couldn’t escape. Then a mistake happened. The door to the outside was left slightly ajar when Wayne was taking a shower. Bella, being an inquisitive little puppy, nudged the door open and went into the yard. Unfortunately, poor Bella was killed by the waiting seagulls. Wayne is warning her neighbors about the dangerous birds, indicating that they could pose a threat to babies, children, and small animals.

A Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals spokesman said the following, according to the Daily Mail.

“This sounds like an extremely upsetting incident and our thoughts are, of course, with the dog’s owner….Incidents like this are extremely uncommon though, and we do not want dog owners to panic.”

However, other sources have stated that seagull attacks on animals and humans are not uncommon in Britain. The birds have hit the headlines repeatedly in recent months. For example, killer seagulls were spotted destroying and eating pigeons from parks, and even brazenly taking lunch from someone eating a sandwich.

Natural predators can harm our beloved canine companions. Unfortunately, other people can be just as harmful to our companion animals. A King’s Mountain, North Carolina, senior beagle named Libby was in her own back yard when she was beheaded on Thursday night. The family had let their three dogs out into their fenced back yard as usual. Unfortunately, when they went to look for Libby in the 100 block of South Gaston Street in Kings Mountain, a friend of the family found just her lifeless corpse, with no head. Her head is still missing in this bizarre, sick case. What type of nasty individuals would do this is unknown, and the police department is seeking the public’s help to find who did this, according to an article in the Inquisitr.
