Dave Coulier: Uncle Joey Confirms He Will Appear On ‘Full House’ Reboot, ‘Fuller House’

Dave Coulier, who played Uncle Joey on Full House, has confirmed that he will appear on the ’90s sitcom revival, Fuller House.

Coulier made the announcement on Thursday, via Instagram, when he shared a photo of him els and Big Bang Theory director Mark Cendrowski, who will also be joining the project.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there has been speculation that Coulier would be making a guest appearance, along with John Stamos (Uncle Jesse Katsopolis) and Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), however this is the first time that it has been confirmed.

“I know John [Stamos], and Bob [Saget] and Dave [Coulier] did Jimmy Fallon, like a reunion skit on there, which was really funny,” Candace Cameron Bure (D.J. Tanner) told TooFab.com during a recent interview. “We’ve all kind of done little things here and there just poking fun or throwing back to ‘Full House’ which has been cool. If it’s a good opportunity or a good place to do that, I think we all would do that. I would do that and have fun with it!”

The new series, set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2016, will follow D.J., a newly widowed mother of three, her BFF, and single mother, Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), and her younger sister Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) as they team up to raise D.J.’s children. The plot is almost identical to that of Full House, where Danny Tanner sought the help of his brother-in-law Jesse and best friend Joey to help him raise his daughters after his wife died.

Despite the similarities, Bure insists that this is not a reunion show.

It’s definitely a fresh take,” she told Today‘s Tamron Hall during an interview on May 5. “We’re not doing the old show; it’s not a reunion. It’s a spinoff show.”

Filming for Fuller House is set to start this summer.
