Seattle Seahawks Trade Rumors: Michael Bennett Doesn’t Really Want Trade From Seahawks?

Seattle Seahawks trade rumors about Michael Bennett have taken an interesting turn. Many Seahawks rumors included Bennett as a player that just wanted out of Seattle, but his interview with King 5 on Thursday (May 7) may have just shut that down. He went in-depth when giving answers to questions about his contract and his happiness in Seattle, putting to bed a lot of rumors that had been floating around.

“I think everyone who has a job, they want a raise for whatever they’re doing. I’m just like and other American. I think everybody wants to be paid a little bit more so I don’t think I fall short of that.

People assume when you ask for a little more money, they assume that you want to be traded or something like that. But that’s not what I’m trying to go for.”

When asked specifically if he wanted to be traded, Bennett said, “no.” That is about as specific as it gets when responding to these Seahawks rumors, putting the defensive end in a really positive light for the 2015 NFL season. Fans had not been receptive to prior reports that Bennett wanted a raise or to be traded by the team. In fact, a report from CBS Sports on Wednesday (May 6), spelled out something completely different. An NFL insider for CBS Sports (Jason La Canfora) offered a different narrative to the situation.

“He’s kinda sorta tried to say that he didn’t really want to be dealt after all, but that’s not flying anywhere. He and his agent have made it clear he’d rather not be back in Seattle and while the Seahawks aren’t ones to back down, perhaps something emerges that makes sense for all parties prior to the start of the regular season.”

While there are still a lot of Seattle Seahawks trade rumors about Bruce Irvin, and what the team might do with him this offseason, these latest comments from Michael Bennett should end rumors about him. Bennett may feel that he is worth more than the four-year, $28.5 million contract he signed with the Seahawks, but he seems pretty content to continue playing for the two-time defending NFC champions. His job is a lot easier on a team that might have one of the best secondaries in NFL history.

As previously reported on the Inquisitr, the Seattle Seahawks are already being picked as the favorites to get back to the Super Bowl and win it. The team just has to survive the Michael Bennett and Bruce Irvin rumors, complete the contract extension with Russell Wilson, and get prepared for a very tough 2015 NFL schedule.
