How will The Vampire Diaries Season 6 end for everyone? Yes, a couple of characters will be leaving in some way because Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino have already revealed they’re both departing from the show, but there’s still the matter of how Elena and Tyler will say their goodbyes.
As the Inquisitr has previously reported, the Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale will be Nina Dobrev’s last episode on the show. Elena has already taken the cure, but while Damon planned to join her in becoming human, Elena stopped him and has instead forced him to really think through that decision. With only Dobrev leaving and not Ian Somerhalder as well, it doesn’t look like Damon and Elena will get a happy ending. Will Stefan getting inside his brother’s head, like he does in the promo for this week’s episode below, play a big role in that?
But even as one couple’s future looks grim, there’s good news for fans of Stefan and Caroline’s relationship. Their relationship has had its ups and downs this season, with the couple not hooking up until after she got him to switch off his humanity with her, and then he tricked her in order to bring her back. After Caroline switched her humanity back on, she left her friends for a bit and didn’t appear in the last episode. Stefan left her a voicemail, but that was it. She returns in “I’ll Wed You in the Golden Summertime,” as you can see in the sneak peek below.
While Elena may not be someone Caroline has to apologize to and their friendship doesn’t seem to have suffered because of what she said while she was humanity-free, Caroline’s conversation with Stefan isn’t going to be so easy. However, as TV Guide reveals, while the penultimate Vampire Diaries episode of the season may not feature much for Steroline fans to cheer about, the season finale very well might.
“When Stefan makes a play for Caroline during a heated exchange, she recites a list of all the bad things that have happened to her since she fell for him. Yikes! But there’s hope! By the end of the season finale, Stefan will make a heart-fluttering admission that forces Caroline to reconsider. But is it too late?”
Candice Accola has talked to Access Hollywood about Caroline’s journey this year and revealed that everything that happened this year “have all been potentials for every season since season 2.”
“But this is the season where it worked out and it all led to the next storyline unfolding, which I think is actually really great because I think that she’s become such a strong individual character over the seasons and she finally was like, ‘Yes, I have it all figured out! I am so put together!’ and then everything came crashing down. I think that parallels life so much.”
The Vampire Diaries Season 6 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
