MTV Network Paid Amber Portwood’s Rent?
The MTV network was reportedly footing the bill for Amber Portwood’s rent last summer as she and fiance Matthew Baier began filming Teen Mom OG.
According to a May 7 report by Radar Online, court documents recently revealed that the MTV network paid four months of rent on Portwood’s Ingalls, Indiana, home. The MTV network also reportedly paid for Portwood’s security deposit and application fee.
The documents revealed that on June 27, 2014, the MTV network wire transferred $5,795 to Realty Wealth Advisors LLC, the property management firm in charge of Portwood’s property.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Portwood, who has been starring on the MTV network for several years, starting with 16 & Pregnant and later moving on to Teen Mom, was on the verge of eviction last month, despite the MTV network’s previous payments. However, after her case was brought in front of a judge, it was quickly thrown out.
In a report by Radar Online earlier this week, the MTV network star was accused of failing to pay rent in court documents filed on April 13. Speaking to the news site a short time later, a source close to Portwood explained what happened.
“Amber was traveling a lot last month, and thought she had already paid through April. The management company never called her or said anything, so she had no idea she owed money until she saw the eviction story in the local newspaper!”
Apparently, the property management firm made a big deal out of a very small issue, which the MTV network star quickly took care of.
“It was a big deal over nothing. It seems like the company just wanted attention.”
Also this week, Portwood visited her ex-boyfriend, Gary Shirley, in the hospital after he welcomed his second child, daughter Emilee, with new girlfriend Kristina Anderson. In a separate report by Radar Online, a source revealed the former MTV network couple have put their differences aside and are now on good terms with one another. In fact, Portwood and her fiance, Matthew Baier, who lives with her in Indiana, brought gifts for Emilee when they came to visit. Portwood was even seen holding the child.
“Amber and Matt brought baby gifts and were excited to meet Emilee. [They] were both happy to hold Emilee. Amber, Kristina, Gary and everyone got along well, [and] Amber and Matt thought Emilee looked just like Gary!”
