Katy Perry and John Mayer may have gotten back together, or maybe they were bitten by the love bug. The on-again, off-again couple were reportedly making out at the Met Gala after party, according to several reports.
Perry, 30, attended the Met Gala after party that took place at The Standard Hotel on Monday night. Lots of reports and rumors have been swirling about the wild party that took place. It was called the Boom Boom Room for a reason! Perry may have attended the Met Gala with rumored boyfriend Diplo, but she chose to leave with Mayer, 37.
Us Weekly was one of the first news sites to report about Perry and Mayer’s alleged make out session. The report said that the singer swapped her Met Gala ballgown for a matching jacket and skirt. Perry also swapped her black haired wig for a blonde one. She spent most of the night by Mayer’s side.
The report said that they were “leaning in for many passionate kisses and holding hands as they drank champagne with other famous attendees.” John and Katy even partied with Robert Pattinson and his fiancée FKA Twigs. Katy is good friends with the former Twilight actor and has partied with him at Coachella. She reportedly hugged FKA, whose real name is Tahlia Barnette, before Robert and John stepped outside for a cigarette break.
Perry also took the time to defend the Kardashian family at the Met Gala. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said she believes that both the family and their reality show is “completely valid.”
“I was thinking the other day, we’ve all had our own commentary on the ‘Kardashians,’ but if Kardashians’ hadn’t existed, there wouldn’t have been the fantastic Bruce Jenner, who is just evolving everyone right now with all of his wonderfulness. So the Kardashians, in my book, are completely valid.”
Perry also spent some time with Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala, according to the Gossip Cop. The performer was upset to hear that Bruce Jenner wasn’t attending fashion’s biggest night of the year. Perry took to Twitter prior to the event to share her disappointment with her fans.

It seems like Katy is making nice with everyone in the pop culture world. The singer attempted to “Break the Internet” by sharing a selfie of herself with Lady Gaga and Madonna. The three ladies embraced each other for a group hug. It appears that there is no bad blood among these singers. Katy fooled her fans by saying they were releasing their new single the very next day!
