Rumer Willis And Val Chmerkovskiy’s Perfect ‘DWTS’ Performance: She’s Happy, He Feels Terrible

Rumer Willis proved that she’s the one to beat during last night’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, and she and partner Val Chmerkovskiy secured one of the four spots in the semifinals during tonight’s elimination episode. However, they had to hit rock bottom before surging to the top of the leaderboard once again, and Val is still beating himself up over their temporary slump.

Rumer Willis’ two previous weeks were rough. As the Inquisitr previously reported, judge Len Goodman complained that her “Bootylicious” routine was too raunchy, and Val Chmerkovskiy really beat himself up over the judge’s critique.

“I won’t let that happen again,” he told Rumer.

Unfortunately, the judges’ lukewarm response to the “Bootylicious” routine had a negative effect on last week’s performance — Carrie Ann Inaba criticized Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy for playing it safe with their wholesome jive.

“I feel like we lost a little something that makes you feel so spectacular,” Carrie Ann said.

Val Chmerkovskiy and Rumer Willis knew that they needed to improve this week, and it looked like Rumer was about to crack under the pressure during rehearsals. However, she powered through and delivered not one, but two perfect performances last night.

During an interview with E! News, Val talked about how he felt after their incredible night on Dancing with the Stars. Surprisingly, he actually felt pretty terrible. According to the dancer, he actually wept after the show even though he claimed that he’s never cried in his entire life.

The catalyst for Val’s crying was DWTS‘ look back at Rumer Willis’ struggle last week. Rumer had to reassure her pro partner that he wasn’t letting her down, and he resolved to craft a dance that was “created out of love and happiness, not stress and anxiety.”

“Man, I just felt so bad. When did this process become so intense? Yes, it’s difficult, yes, it’s a struggle, but it should be a happy struggle,” Val said. “I felt like I’d sucked all the joy out of it and I didn’t want to be that. I just felt so bad. And then we almost got eliminated and I felt even more guilty. Everything hit and I just started crying because she deserves better.”

Luckily, Rumer didn’t let Val’s gloomy mood get her down — she gushed about how great she felt after turning in two perfect performances that didn’t include any of the distracting bells and whistles that judge Len Goodman hates so much.

“This was awesome! I had so much fun tonight,” Rumer said. “When everything comes together and you’re just standing there and you’ve finished the dance, and you know that you’ve killed it, it’s the best feeling. It’s so awesome!”

Rumer’s confidence also got a boost during tonight’s DWTS elimination episode. Her perky booty was the focus of a short segment, and competitor Noah Galloway praised her pert posterior by telling her, “We hate to see you go, but love to watch you leave.” Her body was just too bootylicious for Len.

Robert Herjavec and Chris Soules were eliminated tonight, so Rumer Willis, Noah Galloway, Nastia Liukin, and Riker Lynch will be competing in the Dancing with the Stars semifinals.

Do you think Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy will waltz away with the gold mirrorball trophy?
