Jack Black, Jimmy Fallon Remake ‘More Than Words’ Video
Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon recently remade the “More than Words” music video in a way that only Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon could have done.
The remade video aired during Monday’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since Jack Black was one of Fallon’s featured guests.
Instead of settling for the on-stage performance that Jimmy Fallon usually goes through with his musically-inclined guests, the “More than Words” music video remake took things to a whole new level for The Tonight Show.

At first glance, it seems as if Jimmy Fallon and Jack Black recreated the original 1991 Extreme music video frame for frame. The black and white screen is just the tip of iceberg when it comes to similarities between their hilarious remake and the original video.
Wigs, earrings, seating positions, camera angles and shots as well as the people in the background holding up liters and reading newspaper all seem to line up perfectly with the original video.

“More than Words” was originally released in 1990 on Extreme’s second studio album, Extreme II: Pornograffiti. Unlike the funk metal songs that Extreme fans were used to hearing at the time, “More than Words” provided an acoustic change of pace for the band that has been praised and parodied in the two decades since its initial release.
The concept of the music video was parodied by Weird Al Yankovic and even Extreme singer Nuno Bettencourt with the cast of How I Met Your Mother.

The song was also covered by Mike Myers in an Indian-styled version in the 2008 box-office flop, The Love Guru.

However, what Jack and Jimmy did with their own remake of “More than Words” was much more than a standard parody or cover. It was more like a beautifully performed tribute to a memorable song and a now-iconic music video concept.
The recreated video also serves as a reminder of the fact that Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon are not just funny actors — they are very talented musically as well.
