Seattle Seahawks Rumors: Shocking Information About Frank Clark, Ugly Hotel Incident Revealed By Geoff Baker

Recent Seattle Seahawks rumors do not show Frank Clark or the franchise in a positive light. The Seahawks selected Clark in the 2015 NFL Draft, even though he had some baggage that worried other teams on draft day. Now comes even more information about a hotel incident that led to the arrest of Clark last November. Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times posted a report late Monday (May 4) about what may have taken place in that hotel room, and why Clark was arrested on charges of domestic violence and assault.

Frank Clark was arrested on Nov. 16 for suspicion of domestic violence. A report from the Detroit Free Press in the early hours of Nov. 17 went into detail about what was alleged to have taken place. Writer Mark Snyder relayed information from the arresting officer that did not put Clark in a positive light.

Senior Frank Clark — a star on the much-improved defense — was jailed Sunday in Ohio on misdemeanor allegations of domestic violence and assault, according to arresting officer Martin Curran in Perkins Township. His report portrayed a violent scene in a hotel room in which Clark allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face, grabbed her throat and slammed to the ground, pushed her against the wall, and pinned her down on a bed.

Clark has publicly denied striking Diamond Hurt (his girlfriend at the time) on many occasions since the incident in question took place. That’s not the story that two women at the scene revealed to Geoff Baker of the Seattle Times. Lis Babson and Kristie Colie told Baker that “yelling and screaming” was coming from Clark’s room, and after they pounded on the door for quite a while, Clark opened the door to reveal an unconscious Diamond Hurt on the floor. This is not the story that Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks were relaying when the controversial decision to select Frank Clark during the NFL Draft played out.

As was previously reported on the Inquisitr, the Seahawks were receiving positive grades from NFL analysts after the first-round picks, but that might not be the case for much longer. There has already been chatter on social media about season-ticket holders for the Seahawks threatening to give up those seats if Clark is made part of the team for the 2015 NFL season. It seems highly unlikely that the team would dump him, though, especially after Carroll said that the team believed Clark’s version of the story.

As for the “extensive investigation” that the Seattle Seahawks claim took place when trying to vet Frank Clark? The two witnesses told Baker that they had not been approached by police or the team since the incident took place. They reported seeing Hurt on the floor as though she was unconscious and holding her head. Hurt told police that she was punched in the face by Clark, and her brothers also reported that to police.

Baker went on to report that three weeks after the incident, Clark “pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of persistent disorderly conduct in a plea deal with prosecutors.” He was released with a $250 fine and no further jail time beyond the two days he had been held over the weekend. Flash forward to the Seattle Seahawks selecting him in the NFL Draft and general manager John Schneider stating he believes Frank Clark when he says he never hit Diamond Hurt.

The report from Geoff Baker may just be the first of many articles he releases about Frank Clark, especially with so many unanswered questions still. One question he posed in this report was why the prosecutors went for a plea deal so quickly. If he finds that answer, an update could be made to this story. For now, though, the Seattle Seahawks are receiving a lot of negative attention for selecting a gun with a checkered past that had issues with the law before. During 2012, Clark was caught in a home-invasion and was suspended by the team for one game.
