Watch This Oklahoma Police Officer Escort Baby Goslings Across The Road [Video]

This is definitely something you don’t see every day.

In a video, which has since gone viral, an Oklahoma police officer can be seen escorting a group of baby goslings across the street.

MsSgt. Jeff Tanksley said he noticed a group of five baby goslings huddled in the middle of the road, causing all kinds of chaos for drivers. That is when he decided to step in and help.

“It was more or less a three-ring circus for a little while,” Tanksley said, according to KOCO.com.

Tanksley was able to grab four of the goslings, but one decided to give him a run for his money.

“So I grabbed those, kind of put them in my arm and kept them, and one of them took off running for dear life.”

Now picture this: The 25-year old OCPD officer juggled four of the baby birds in his arms as he chased the fifth nearly six blocks.

“I’m trying to drive and hold them, and I don’t have anything to put them in,” Tanksley explained.

He was later able to locate a cardboard box to carry them.

After his search for the goslings’ parents failed, Tanksley took the birds to Rhondi Large at Wildcare.

“To gather them all up, it just warms my heart that somebody would care about little wild animals, like little goslings, to save them, and they’re doing super,” Large said.

Tanksley was given a special kit to catch live animals by Wildcare if an incident like this should happen again.

While he is being credited as a “hero,” Tanksley says he was just doing what anyone else would have done.

“You see a baby animal running loose in a busy roadway, the last thing you want to see is them to get run over,” he said. “I think I just did what anybody else would have done.”
