Princess Charlotte: Royal Baby Name Causes ‘Sex And The City’ Jokes Galore
Princess Charlotte is already super famous. The 2-day-old royal baby’s name was released on Monday, and social media hasn’t stopped talking about her for a minute. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kate Middleton and Prince William chose the name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana for their daughter.
Charlotte was likely chosen as a nod to Prince William’s father, Prince Charles, as it is the female version of his name. Elizabeth is in honor of William’s grandmother, the Queen of England. Diana, of course, is in honor of William’s mother, the late Princess Diana. While many people assumed that the child’s name would be Charlotte, plenty of social media users started making Sex and the City jokes following the official announcement.
Princess Charlotte apparently made people think of Charlotte, Samantha, Carrie, and Miranda. According to Us Weekly, this has sort of become a thing on the internet now.

The celebration of the royal baby’s arrival hasn’t slowed one bit since her birth. According to Yahoo! News, cannons have been fired off and bells have been rung in honor of the new Princess.
“The name announcement came an hour after gun salutes rang out in London to celebrate the birth. Forty-one shots were fired from World War I-era field guns in Hyde Park after a military band played Stevie Wonder’s hit ‘Isn’t She Lovely.’ Artillery units at the Tower of London also fired a ceremonial 62-gun salute at the same time, with the boom reverberating across the River Thames.”
Princess Charlotte hasn’t been spotted since she left the hospital with her parents on Saturday evening. It is believed that she will travel to Amner Hall with her family in the coming days, where she will spend the first few weeks of her life.
