Man Dies In Freak Pinto Bean Accident That Buries Him Alive

Raymond Segura Jr., 56, died this week when a 20-foot high mound of pinto beans landed on him at a warehouse in eastern Colorado.

According to reports Segura was working at a Brush, Colorado facility for the Kelly Bean Company when on Thursday afternoon the pinto beans fell on top of him.

According to Morgan County Undersheriff Dave Martin:

“We moved several tons of beans to get to him.”

Unfortunately by the time emergency personnel were called to the site at 11:30 a.m. it was probably already too late.

Rescue workers and four inmates from the local county jail spent more than one hour digging through the mound of beans in the hopes of rescuing the trapped worker however he was discovered dead after the mound was cleared away.

Raymond has worked at the same warehouse location for nearly the last 15 years with no incidents.

At this time local police officers are still investigating the freak accident to determine how the accident occurred, how Raymond Segura became trapped under tons of pinto beans, and to determine the exact cause of death.

I’ve heard of some terrible ways to die and being buried alive by a food product is definitely one of the more strange ways death can happen.
