Kate Middleton Gives Birth Naturally: Royal Baby Labor Details Revealed

Kate Middleton gave birth to Princess Charlotte naturally, as in without an epidural.

According to Us Weekly, Kate arrived at St. Mary’s hospital with her husband, Prince William, at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. The Duchess of Cambridge was whisked into a private room inside the hospital’s Lindo Wing where she was given the best care imaginable. Just two and a half hours later, the couple welcomed a baby girl.

Kate had a relatively easy delivery. She had a lot of support as she dealt with her contractions, which is important. According to the report, Kate requested that midwives Arona Ahmed and Jacqui Dunkley-Bent be in the room with her and assist in the child’s birth. It is believed that Kate bonded with these two women when she gave birth to Prince George in 2013, and that she wanted to be sure that they were on call when she went into labor this time around.

Kate Middleton also had plenty of medical professionals on hand to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible.

“Consultant Guy Thorpe Beeston was also on hand to make sure all went well with the birth, along with his team of doctors; Alan Farthing, the Queen’s surgeon-gynecologist, Dr Sunit Godambe, Consultant Neonatologist at Imperial College NHS Trust and Professor Huw Thomas, Physician to HM The Queen and Head of the Medical Household.”

Sources say that the medical staff was surprised at how fast Kate’s labor progressed and how quickly she delivered. More people are surprised by just how amazing the Duchess looked hours later. Standing on the steps of the Lindo Wing, Kate did not look like she just pushed out a baby. She was all smiles, glowing in her Jenny Packham dress.

According to Stuff, it’s hard to believe that Kate was up and walking (in heels), not looking anything like most moms post-birth. Many wondered if Kate had ice packs under her dress… or if she went home and changed into sweat pants and slippers. The Duchess hasn’t been spotted out since she left the hospital, but with all of the visitors she has had over the past couple of days, you can bet she has gotten dressed up daily.

Earlier today, the royal couple announced that they named their baby girl Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it is thought that the name Charlotte was given as a nod to Prince William’s father, Prince Charles (Charlotte is the female version). The names Elizabeth and Diana were given to honor the Queen and William’s late mother respectively.
