GameFly Deal Gives Trial Members Free Anime Membership Bonus This May

GameFly, a game rental subscription service, has teamed up with anime streaming service Crunchyroll to offer gamers “30 Days of Games and Anime” this May to new trial subscribers. To qualify for the deal, interested customers must sign up for a free, 30 day trial of the GameFly service to receive a bonus free trial of the Crunchyroll service. Conversely, anime fans who sign up for a 30 day trial of the Crunchyroll service will also get a free trial of the GameFly service, plus a bonus game. The bonus trial is sent via email after registration has been completed.

The promotion materials do not make it clear if new subscribers to one service who already have the other service can get a free month tacked on to their existing subscription. Typically, offers like these from GameFly or Crunchyroll require the potential subscriber to be a completely new subscriber who has not previously taken advantage of a free trial offer in the past.

According to their website, GameFly has over 8,000 games and movies that can be delivered to your home by mail. Although new titles for the newest consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One headline their offerings, gamers wanting to enjoy older titles that were released on consoles like the original Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, or PSP may find GameFly a useful alternative to sifting through the used game bins at Best Buy or GameStop. In addition to renting games, GameFly allows subscribers the option to keep borrowed games at a discounted price.

The free trial of the Crunchyroll service becomes available after a recent update to their premium subscription services that streamlined the content offered to subscribers. Previously, Crunchyroll offered separate subscriptions for their anime, manga, and Asian drama content. According to an official forum post, Crunchyroll has now consolidated their subscriptions down to two offerings: a Premium subscription and a Premium+ subscription. The free trial offered by the GameFly promotion is for the Premium subscription, which includes access to all anime, manga and drama content. Popular series aired almost simultaneously with Japan as part of the Spring 2015 lineup include Sailor Moon Crystal, Fate/stay Night, Naruto Shippuden, One Piece, Food Wars!, Nisekoi, and My Love Story.

Those interested in giving these services a try for free should hurry, as the deal ends on May 31, 2015. Just remember, you get 30 days of anime and games from GameFly and Crunchyroll for free simultaneously. Plan your promotional time accordingly.
