WWE News: Big King Of The Ring Angle To Start On ‘WWE Raw’ Tonight?

WWE’s King of the Ring event returned to WWE programming last week, and WWE decision-makers had to pick a winner. The last victor of the prestigious tournament was Sheamus, who was a heel at the time. It helped jumpstart his career to the main card after a big build, but a harder fall to the mid-card. Bad News Barrett defeated Neville in the finals to finally get a big victory.

He lost the Intercontinental championship at WrestleMania 31, when Daniel Bryan won the ladder match to become the new champion. At the moment, Bryan’s injured right now, so it’s looking like a bad decision. Then again, Bryan’s injury wasn’t anticipated by WWE officials. Ninety-nine percent of injuries never are.

With Bad News Barrett as the champion, where does the newest King of the Ring winner go from here? According to Daily Wrestling News, an angle is going to start at WWE Raw tomorrow night, which will begin the king himself.

“We haven’t heard from the new King of the Ring on WWE television since that momentous win. Is King Barrett preparing to make a royal decree? Will one of his foes get clobbered by a regal Bull Hammer? What other King of the Ring Tournament fallout can we expect? WWE’s ‘Game of Thrones’ continues on Raw.”

Due to the success of the King of the Ring event, the WWE is planning on doing more WWE Network live specials. That’s not the sole reason, but it certainly helped the cause by WWE officials. Along with the King of the Ring tournament are the live podcasts done by Chris Jericho. He’s already interviewed John Cena and Stephanie McMahon. Hopefully, the next guest is as charismatic as the first two.

For some, the WWE missed out on a big opportunity with the King of the Ring. The only way they could’ve done it better was to have it as a pay-per-view. Have the entire pay-per-view be the King of the Ring tournament, with a tag-team match and a divas match.

The winner of the tournament would gain an automatic match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. If the WWE would have the right man, then the feud for the WWE title would book itself. All the WWE Creative team needs, at the point, is a program between two young upstart wrestlers.

WWE fans want nothing more than for fresh blood to get their chance in the main event scene. For the most part, that is happening today. Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, and Neville are extremely popular with the WWE fans, because they are winning. Continue that trend, and the WWE writing team will be doing great things on a weekly basis.
