Kris Jenner Cashes In On Bruce Jenner’s Transition With Two-Night Kardashian Family Special

Kris Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian clan did not make an appearance in Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer last week, and now it is clear why. Ever the businesswoman, Kris will instead discuss her ex-husband’s transition on a two-night Kardashian family special that will air on May 17 and 18 on E!

Mashable reports that the special will capture “intimate family conversations” and a discussion about how Bruce’s transition effects the relationships with Kris and her children, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Rob, Kylie, and Kendall.

Bruce Jenner’s children, except for Kylie, Kendall and the Kardashian step children, all made appearances during Diane Sawyer’s interview with Jenner. Other members of Jenner’s family also appeared on the special, including his sister, his mother, and his first two wives, Chrystie Jenner and Linda Thompson.

Kris Jenner reportedly declined to give Diane Sawyer a comment about her ex-husband during the filming of Bruce Jenner: The Interview. Although People reports that the Kardashian “Momager” didn’t comment because “she had not seen the special,” there is speculation that she wanted to save her commentary, and that of her children, for her own special on E!

According to Radar Online, Kris Jenner inked a huge deal with E! earlier this year, signing for four more years of Keeping Up with the Kardashians with a payday of more than $100 million. The upcoming special about Bruce Jenner’s transition, set to air this month, was likely another carefully engineered deal that will add more cash to the Kardashian gold mine.

The Kardashians will have their say about Bruce Jenner’s transition on their E! special, but Bruce who will have full control of his own upcoming docu-series that premieres this summer.

The eight-episode series, set to premiere on July 26 on E!, will give viewers a look at Jenner as he lives life as a transgender woman. Entertainment Weekly reports that Bruce is very involved in editing the show, and is “excited to continue to share his journey” with viewers.

“Over the years, many times when Kris kept criticizing him and bossing him around, the film crew wished that he would speak up for himself. He finally gets to live the life that he wished to have for so long.”
