Russell Brand Arrested In New Orleans For iPhone Theft, Property Damage


Russell Brand was arrested in New Orleans on Thursday after he turned himself in to authorities following a night of debauchery that included stealing an iPhone and breaking a window.

After turning himself into police Brand offered to pay for a law firm’s broken window that he had damaged but he has not said whether or not he’ll give back or pay for a new iPhone which he stole from a paparazzi.

Brand has been staying in New Orleans while shooting a new yet to be titled Diablo Cody (Juno) movie and the incident went down Monday night.

According to the paparazzi’s police report they were filming Russell Brand in public when he grabbed the phone out of their hand.

Russell doesn’t apologize for his iPhone theft, in fact he took to Twitter on Wednesday to tweet:

“Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”

The paparazzi who’s phone was stolen wants Russell Brand charged with “criminal damage.” According to police reports he was wanted for $700 in damage.

According to reports an assistant for Russell stopped by the law office and paid $240 in damages.
