Bill Cosby: Actress On ‘Cosby Show’ And Writer Claim Sexual Assault And Drugging – Case May Be Prosecuted

Bill Cosby faces new accusations from an actress and a writer, both of whom claim he sexually assaulted and drugged them. The claims are supported by a writer who also is stepping forward to charge Cosby with sexual assault and drugging, reported Salon.

Attorney Gloria Allred made the announcement for the women that she represents. Both Lili Bernard, an actress who guest-starred on the Cosby Show, and writer Sammie Mays, offer detailed accounts of being drugged and then sexually assaulted by the legendary comedian.

Sammie recalled getting acquainted with Cosby when they were both attending a New Orleans convention in the late 1980s. He gave her a drink, after which she lost consciousness. Her next memory is of discovering that she had some of her clothes removed.

But Lili’s claims against Cosby may become the ones that linger. She both co-starred with Bill and idolized him as a mentor. Her appearance on his show occurred during the last season of the situation comedy.

Lili revealed that Cosby drugged her, then raped her in the 1990s after she gave him her trust and admiration.

“He praised me. He lifted me up. I believed him. After all, he was Bill Cosby. After he had won my complete trust and adoration, he drugged me and raped me.”

But after that occurrence, Cosby turned on her.

“You’re dead, Bernard. You don’t exist. I never wanna see your face again,” said the comedian.

Lili made it clear precisely why she chose to step up and reveal the past pain.

“I am coming forward to show my six-year-old daughter to stand in truth, and to say that I have survived Bill Cosby’s drugging and raping me. I stand here to take back my power and to confront the fear that has paralyzed me for so many years.”

What’s particularly significant about Bernard’s case is that she says she was assaulted in New Jersey. No statute of limitations exists there for rape, said her attorney.

“Unlike most other states, New Jersey has no statue of limitations for rape,” emphasized Allred. “Which means that law enforcement is not prevented from prosecuting a case because of an arbitrary time period set by law.”

As the Inquisitr reported, Chelsea Handler also charged that Bill Cosby attempted to assault her. Handler’s claim came when she was being interviewed by a writer who expressed sympathy for the comedian.

“Not ‘poor guy.’ He tried to Cosby me,” accused Chelsea, referencing the previous accusations from women that the comedian had assaulted them.

However, Handler says that she protected herself by declining an invitation from Cosby to visit him alone in his hotel room.

But Bernard revealed that her nightmare, regardless of the outcome for Bill Cosby, has not ended, reported the Chron.

When she last saw Cosby at the studios where he threatened her, she was terrified that he would kill her.

“I interpreted that as a death threat and feared for my life,” she said.

The actress became suicidal, and continues to experience panic attacks and night terrors.
