Lydia McLaughlin Wants To Return To ‘RHOC?’

Lydia McLaughlin left The Real Housewives of Orange County after the show’s eighth season, but is she really done with reality TV? In an April 30 interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Lydia McLaughlin was asked if she would return to the Bravo reality show, and, as she explained, it’s not off the table.

“I say in the book that I would be open to maybe going back one day if I felt like it was my calling, or, you know… I don’t think that there was like, ‘This happened, so I left.’ It was just the stage of life that I was in. I wanted to have another baby, and I felt like the first season I did was very draining, and I needed to just focus on myself and kind of get back to who I know I am to be.”

Lydia McLaughlin said she’d also love to show more of her positive life if Bravo asks her back, noting her healthy relationship with her mother and husband would be a good thing for the series.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Lydia McLaughlin has maintained a relationship with Alexis Bellino and Gretchen Rossi since leaving the show, but as for her other former co-stars, she said she isn’t in contact with anyone.

“I might see Heather. Sometimes we work out at the same gym, so we say, ‘hello,’ and it’s very cordial, but once I was off the show, then that was pretty much the end of our friendship.”

In February, ahead of the release of her book, Beyond Orange County: A Housewives Guide To Faith & Happiness, which hit stores on April 14, Lydia McLaughlin spoke to Radar Online, confirming that while she was once on the outs with Rossi and her fiancé, Slade Smiley, she now considers them close friends.

As fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County will recall, Smiley poked fun at Lydia McLaughlin’s tiny frame during filming, claiming she could stand to eat a cheeseburger. At the time, McLaughlin was highly insulted by her co-star’s comments about her weight, but after speaking to him after the show, McLauglin agreed to move forward.

Since Lydia McLaughlin left the Bravo show years ago, a handful of new wives have been added to the cast. In addition to Lizzie Rovsek and Shannon Beador’s Season 9 debut, fans will soon meet Meghan King Edmonds and Katie Hamilton, who were added for Season 10.
