‘Oops, She Did It Again!’ Britney Spears Reschedules Two Vegas Shows Due To Ankle Injury

It looks like Britney Spears isn’t fine after her ankle injury on Wednesday night. The pop princess twisted her ankle during her performance of “(You Drive Me) Crazy,” causing her fall on stage and stay there for several minutes. Her backup dancers rushed around her after the fall to help her up, but it sounds like Britney’s ankle injury is more serious than it looked.

A representative for Caesars Palace told BreatheHeavy that Spears’ upcoming May 1 and May 2 performances will be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date.

“Britney injured her ankle during her performance Wednesday evening and her doctor has advised her not to perform Friday and Saturday evening so that she may heal. Britney Spears, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Live Nation apologize for any inconvenience this causes ticket holders.”

On Wednesday night, Spears, 33, was dancing along to her hit song “Crazy” when she twisted her ankle and fell. She assured fans on Twitter that she was “fine” after the slight ankle injury.

Spears took to the social networking site to write the following: “Thank you all for the sweet wishes! Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I’m ok!”

You can check out Britney’s scary fall in the videos below. As you can see, she reacted when she fell to the ground, but carried on lip-synching. Britney also literally picked herself back up and continued to dance without missing a beat, as noted by E! News.

This isn’t the first time that Britney Spears has experienced a dramatic fall. Back in 1999, she was sidelined after she twisted her knee while rehearsing and had to undergo serious surgery. Also in 2004, Spears fell while filming the music video for her single “Outrageous,” which was never released to the public. She had to undergo surgery for the second time. Spears fell to the cement ground and shattered her knee, causing her to cancel the remainder of her Oxygen Hotel tour. It doesn’t look like it will be the case with her current show.

Spears has been performing her Piece of Me residency at Planet Hollywood. She’s had a residency in Las Vegas since December, 2013, and is expected to prolong her stay. Spears is also working on a new album but she would rather release hit songs than hit albums.

Speaking of hit songs, the “Pretty Girls” single cover has been released today and it’s out of this world. The ’80s-inspired album cover was shared by music streaming site Shazam earlier today, so it could be legit, according to another Breathe Heavy report. The illustration is very similar to Britney and Iggy’s styling in the music video. The “Pretty Girls” single is expected to be released as soon as next week.
