Introducing The World’s Most Expensive Ice Cream, Only $817 Per Scoop

Going out for a refreshing scoop of ice cream isn’t as simple as picking chocolate, vanilla or swirl anymore. Now you have a variety of flavors, with toppings ranging from organic fruits to gluten-free items, and of course you still have your typical toppings as well. Ice cream is also not considered to be such a cheap treat anymore either, and the people of Scoopi Cafe in Dubai are giving us another reason to dig deep into our wallets for a taste of this sweet treat.

The Huffington Post is reporting that Scoopi has come up with the world’s most expensive scoop of ice cream, and if you want to taste this delectable dessert, you will have to take out more than a $20 bill when you walk into their store. This new ice cream is called the Black Diamond, and it costs an unbelievable $817 per scoop.

For that kind of money, it also better be the best-tasting ice cream in the world. The Black Diamond is made from a relatively simple Madagascar vanilla-bean ice cream base, but the toppings is where they get you on the cost. According to FOX News, the ice cream is topped like a crown with Italian truffles, an extremely rare Iranian saffron, which is known to retail for as much as $100 an ounce. Then, to add the finishing touch, the scoop of frozen deliciousness will be topped with 23-karat edible gold flakes.

Although this ice cream is being dubbed as the most expensive in the world, the Guinness Book of World Records has another restaurant’s sweet dessert named the most expensive. According to Guinness, Serendipity 3’s $25,000 Frrozen Haute Chocolate ice cream sundae is the world’s most expensive dessert. Serendipity’s ice cream dessert is made from 28 different blends of cocoa, including 14 of the world’s most expensive. Serendipity even partnered with jeweler Euphoria in New York, when they were creating this luxury sundae. The ice cream is topped with five grams of edible 23-karat gold flakes. The base of the dessert comes with a gorgeous take home gift for the consumer, made of an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1-karat of white diamonds. Then for the finishing touch, you are given a gold spoon to take home that is covered in white and chocolate-colored diamonds.

Not to be outdone, however, the Black Diamond also comes with a take home gift for the ice cream devotee that purchased the dessert. Consumers who purchase this opulent dessert will take home the Versace bowl it is served in, along with a matching spoon.
