‘Star Wars: The Old Republic’ Updates With ‘Rise Of The Emperor’ Content, New Storyline And Planet Included

Star Wars: The Old Republic players can now enjoy “Rise of the Emperor” content. The hybrid free-to-play MMO just updated with patch 3.2, which contains a new planet to explore, new features, setup for returning events, and much more.

BioWare, the MMO’s developer, announced the patch’s launch on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website. The major highlight of the patch is the included lore content which focuses on a former Sith Emperor.

“Unleashed from his hideaway on Yavin 4, the former Sith Emperor has now struck the Imperial world of Ziost. Using his immense power in the dark side of the Force, he has dominated the minds of the planet’s Imperial troops–as well as an elite cadre of militaristic Jedi–and has set them against the populace, engaging in a bloody slaughter.”

This particular “Rise of the Emperor” content is only accessible by Republic and Empire players that have reached level 60 and completed the storyline found in the latest expansion, “Shadow of Revan.” However, the full patch notes detail other features, changes, and fixes from which all players will benefit. Notably, a new way save a character’s style is incorporated with the new Outfit Designer. This system lets players use the appearance of aesthetically pleasing gear over their gear with good statistics. It is ultimately an appearance tab feature for those familiar with the feature found in other MMOs.

The notes also indicate that a few events are incoming for Star Wars: The Old Republic players. Relics of the Gree and Bounty Contract Week are both scheduled within the patch notes. Level 60 players can expect Relics of the Gree event starting on May 12, while players can look forward to the Bounty Contract Week beginning on May 19.

Star Wars: The Old Republic keeps players coming back with expansions, content updates, and events fairly often. In fact, a double experience week just concluded a week ago that let players level much quicker than normal. The Inquisitr covered the special event that was extra convenient for players looking to level up characters after the “Shadow of Revan” expansion.

Players will need to have access to “Shadow of Revan” to complete the new storyline and planet found in Star Wars: The Old Republic‘s latest update. The expansion is $20 and included the previously released “Rise of the Hutt Cartel” expansion, as well.

Will you be travelling to the Ziost planet to take on the former Sith Emperor?
