Ed Sheeran Got His Phone Stolen, But He Also Lost 40 Pounds

Ed Sheeran has had an unusual month this April. After getting caught rapping homophobic slurs in a YouTube video, Sheeran hit another bout of bad luck when he had his phone stolen backstage at a show in Argentina. But it hasn’t been all bad for Ed lately. He also managed to lose more than 40 pounds.

According to the Mirror, Ed Sheeran performed two nights at the Luna Park in Buenos Aires, but didn’t leave with the best impression of the country. He revealed on his Twitter page that his phone was swiped from him somewhere backstage, possibly while he was performing on stage. But Ed Sheeran has managed to keep a good sense of humor about it.

The good news is Ed Sheeran has been working hard to lose weight lately. He surprised fans in a more positive way when he spoke to 60 Minutes and revealed he had lost more than 40 pounds. Ed spoke with Peter Stefanovic while touring Australia and discussed his struggled with weight. Sheeran called himself a “fat f***” but admitted he’s been slimming down lately.

“Ed Sheeran: Fat F***’!” Ed Sheeran joked. “No, I lost a lot of weight. I was like 15 stone (210 pounds) and now I’m 11 (154 pounds), well, almost 12 (168 pounds).”

But the 60 Minutes presenter defended Sheeran for the sake of the fans, saying, “‘You’re not even fat, what are you talking about?”

Now that Ed Sheeran has lost some weight, he claims he’s confident enough to go back on the prowl. The singer recently broke up with his girlfriend, Athina Andrelos, who he was with for almost a year. Now, Sheeran is looking for a new girl to settle down with.

“My dad’s Catholic, and we come from a very close Irish family, all close together. My parents have been married for 30 years, my grandparents were together 66 years. I’m definitely bred into that life of you find a partner and you stick with them.”

It’s not surprising that Ed Sheeran is a romantic at heart if you’ve heard his emotional music. However, some recent stats from Spotify reveal that the songwriter is the number one artist that people are using on the streaming service to fall asleep, along with fellow moody-singer Sam Smith.
