Bruce Jenner’s Children On Pain And Forgiveness: Jenner Admits Depression Amid Dress Photo Lawsuit Threat

Bruce Jenner’s older children are revealing the pain that they experienced from his absence while also expressing their forgiveness as they acquire understanding of his secret struggles. In particular, they admitted to Diane Sawyer that they felt that their dad had departed from their lives throughout the 1980s, reported ABC News.

It’s taken 30 years for them to understand the layers that Jenner developed to hide his authentic self.

“We have a very complex relationship,” admitted Cassandra Marino.

But Bruce’s daughter is looking to the future.

“He’s disappeared out of our lives, especially out of my life. So… I’m looking forward to this next chapter.”

Watching Jenner in the two-hour special, his children began to acquire an awareness of the man that they thought they knew. And while they have not forgotten the pain of his absence, they do forgive their father as they seek to enhance their relationship.

“Us missing, you know, a time of our lives is still probably the hardest thing for us to deal with,” admitted Brandon Jenner. “We’re trying not to look back. We’re just looking forward.”

For Bruce, the years from 1980 to 1990 involved coping with isolation and depression. Jenner recognizes that he seemed to be an absent father in many ways, and has asked his children to forgive them. In particular, he is concerned that his boys lacked a male role model.

“The big formative years for them, I was really struggling with these issues. I talked to all the boys about this after the fact, that, yeah, I didn’t do a good job. And I apologized to my kids for that.”

But his boys take pride in their father’s honesty and candor about his authentic self.

“In seeing him come out to me and explain his true self, I was more proud right there to carry the last name Jenner and to be part of the family than at any time before,” emphasized Brandon Jenner.

And Bruce’s first child, Burt Jenner, stressed the importance of speaking the truth.

“The one thing, I think, that we have gained that means more to us than anything is the honesty.”

As the Inquisitr reported, a wide range of celebrities, from Lady Gaga to Ariana Grande, and Jenner’s own family showed their support on social media during and after the interview.

“We have the chance to write this moment in history together. Let’s empower people like Bruce all over the world by being loving & not mean,” posted Gaga.

And among Bruce’s most revealing quotes came one that reflected his son’s statement about honesty.

“I just can’t hold the curtain any longer. Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie. I can’t do it anymore.”

While Bruce’s family seeks to renew their relationships after Jenner’s in-depth interview with Diane Sawyer about his transgender journey, the 65-year-old Olympic champion now is dealing with the anger and violation that he experienced when he discovered that illegally obtained photos showing him wearing a dress just outside his home had been published, reported Us Weekly.

Those photos show Jenner wearing a striped dress and smoking outside of his Malibu home. They were published in the New York Daily News and also aired on CNN under the title “Caught on Camera: Bruce Jenner’s New Look.”

Because Bruce was unaware of the photographers, they appear to have been taken from a long distance and thus constituted a violation of his privacy. In response to complaints, both media outlets removed the photos but only after they had been displayed for several days.

“Both Daily News and CNN pulled the photos sold to them by X17 once they found out they were illegally obtained. The agency no longer is selling those photos [since] they confirmed they were shot illegally,” revealed a Jenner spokesperson in a Page Six interview.

Bruce lives in Malibu, California, and the state law stipulates that photographers are considered to illegally invade a person’s privacy rights if they use telephoto lenses to take pictures showing “personal or familial activity.”

Consequently, Marty Singer, who is Bruce’s lawyer, declared that Bruce is determined to fight for his right to live a private life in and around his home.

“The photos were clearly unlawfully taken from a very long distance using an enhancement device. Bruce Jenner is going to enforce his right to privacy,” asserted Singer.
