Lydia McLaughlin Slams ‘RHOOC’ But ‘I Would Totally Do It Again’

Lydia McLaughlin filmed one season of The Real Housewives of Orange County and she made quite the impression on viewers. McLaughlin was a very religious mother, who put religion first in her home. With Alexis Bellino on the show at the time, it seemed like the perfect fit. But Lydia was very religious and really questioned whether this was indeed the right fit for her and her family.

Lydia McLaughlin stormed off the reunion set when the Real Housewives of Orange County women got together because the discussions were simply too much for her. McLaughlin has been out of her Bravo contract for some time now and has even given birth to her third son. With a book out now, Lydia is ready to discuss how she really feels about The Real Housewives of Orange County.

According to a new Radar Online report, Lydia McLaughlin is now revealing that she felt completely empty inside after filming one season. But she does reveal that she would sign the contract to return in a heartbeat if someone special told her to do it.

“I think my soul was just empty,” Lydia McLaughlin has revealed about being on the show, adding, “I needed to refill it….I was depleted. I needed to go back to my faith…rather than constantly being around negativity.”

Of course, McLaughlin is trying to stay positive, and she admits that she left the show to focus on herself and her family. Lydia said that she wanted to focus on her family and within months of leaving the show, she announced that she was pregnant with her third son. Last fall, McLaughlin gave birth to her third son, Roman. In other words, watching the last season of The Real Housewives of Orange County has not been a priority.

“I haven’t watched the O.C. once just because it would be too weird. Like your ex-boyfriend with a new girlfriend. You don’t want to look at that,” Lydia McLaughlin has revealed, adding, “I would just need to know that it was part of God’s plan, and if that became really clear to me, then yeah, I would totally do it again!”

There have been questions about her returning to the show. According to the Inquisitr, McLaughlin has kept her options open. But if she does return, there may be some fish to fry. None of the ladies have reached out to her after she left the show, so she may be struggling with the same thing as Yolanda Foster; real friends vs. fame friends.

“Anyone that’s still on the show hasn’t really reached out to me at all,” Lydia McLaughlin adds about her former co-stars, saying that none of them showed up to her book launch, “I feel like once I wasn’t on the show anymore, I didn’t matter to them. That’s hurtful. I felt like we were friends, and now I guess I’m not worthy of their friendship, or I don’t need to be in their life. They don’t see me as valuable.”
