‘NCIS’ Season 12 Spoilers: Conflict In Bishop And Jake’s Marriage, A Death And An ‘Emotional’ Finale

This week’s episode of NCIS Season 12 kicks off the arc of the season’s final three hours, and in “Troll,” Emily Wickersham’s Bishop will be dealing with the events of “Lost in Translation,” on top of what’s still to come for the team.

In the previous NCIS episode, Gibbs took Bishop with him to Afghanistan, and in order to save a man, she had to go out into the field, which she wasn’t comfortable with and in doing so, she had to kill. It was her first kill, and it was also an episode that revealed a bit more about her past.

The show isn’t just going to forget it happened, as “Troll” will see her talking to her husband, Jake, played by Jamie Bamber, about it in a “pretty intense” scene, as Wickersham told The Hollywood Reporter.

“You get a glimpse into where they’re at in their relationship, and it’s a little bit of a wobbly point. We don’t really know how things are going to be with them because I feel like all relationships on NCIS kind of end. … There’s a lot of conflict happening in their relationship.”

That said, the couple will work through things. Could Gibbs offer some insight for Jake, perhaps? After all, those two have become good friends, as the rest of the team will learn in this episode, and as you can see in one of the NCIS Season 12 Episode 22 sneak peeks (below). Perhaps Gibbs isn’t the best person to turn to for marriage advice, but he does have experience being married and might be the best person to look to for what not to do.

The rest of the episode kicks off the season ending arc, as the team investigates the murder of a Navy ensign who worked in the Office of Intelligence, and that leads the team to an international terrorist group that recruits children on the internet. Matt Jones returns as Ned Dorneget, now with cyber operations, and as you can see in the clip above, he’s gone from probie to special agent to cyber operations’ best agent.

Wickersham told TVLine that this is all building to a big event, and along the way, there is a “very sad, shocking” and “pretty abrupt” loss.

“The significant loss is someone who every loves, I think, and it will be a very sad, shocking thing – but, at the same time, it becomes a motivator for the team, to kind of figure things out…”

By the NCIS Season 12 finale, fans will know who dies, and as the Inquisitr previously reported, EP Gary Glasberg teased that the season finale will “rattle people a little bit.”

Furthermore, Wickersham has said that it’s “an emotional episode for the team.”

NCIS Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
