Alice Eve’s Bizarre Bruce Jenner Comments Spark Outrage
Star Trek actress Alice Eve is sparking controversy after she made bizarre comments about Bruce Jenner. Instead of understanding his transitioning as a woman, Eve took a very strong and strange stance on Bruce Jenner’s gender identity.
In the post, which has since been deleted, Alice Eve wrote, “Nope. If you were a woman no one would have heard of you because women can’t compete in the decathlon. You wouldn’t be a hero. You would be a frustrated young athlete who wasn’t given a chance.”
Completely missing the point of Bruce Jenner’s significant interview with Diane Sawyer, Alice Eve continued to highlight the wrong issue, and even went on to say that Bruce Jenner is simply “playing” a woman and suggests that he will never know the daily struggle of being a woman and not being seen as equal in society, while completely dismissing his already tumultuous battle.
“Until women are paid the same as men, then playing at being a ‘woman’ while retaining the benefits of being a man is unfair. Do you have a vagina? Are you paid less than men? Then, my friend, you are a woman.”
LGBT allies quickly jumped on the post, calling Alice Eve’s statements transphobic. Here’s a taste of the backlash Alice received on Twitter after her ill-informed statements.

Fortunately for Bruce Jenner, many people in Hollywood have come out in droves to support the former Olympian.
Lady Gaga told her fans, “We have the chance to write this moment in history together. Let’s empower people like Bruce all over the world by being loving and not mean.”
Bravo’s Andy Cohen points out Jenner’s politics in hopes that Republicans will be more understanding, despite their conservative beliefs.
“Hopefully Republicans will embrace Bruce as he has embraced them!”
