Kathie Lee: Kris Jenner’s BFF Claims Bruce Jenner’s Confession Was A Complete Shock For Family
On Monday, Kathie Lee Gifford spoke out about Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer. The Today host said that the news of Bruce’s gender identity issue was completely shocking to both her and to her best friend — Bruce’s ex-wife — Kris Jenner. According to Mail Online, Gifford said that Kris had no idea about Bruce’s secret, and that she is still “trying to get her act together” when it comes to dealing with what’s going on with her ex-husband.
“The other ladies, both fine women, had a long time to get used to this. This was new to Kris. [She is] trying to be a good friend to him – or her -now. Trying to still be a great parent, and it’s complicated in ways that we cannot even comprehend,” said Gifford.
Kathie Lee Gifford’s story didn’t exactly line up with what Bruce Jenner told Diane Sawyer. He says that Kris Jenner found out about his secret a while back because he had size 36B breasts that he simply couldn’t hide it (or them) anymore. He also said that Kris saw him cross-dressing. Another somewhat surprising claim made by Bruce is that he’d still be with Kris if she had been more accepting of his transition. Although he says that he is a woman, he is still attracted to women.
According to Page Six, Gifford is doing her best to be supportive of Bruce. While she says that it wasn’t news that she expected to hear, she is determined to be a friend to Bruce, and to “put love first.”
“I never saw this coming, I’ve got to tell you,” she said. “It would have shocked me as much if Frank had told me [the same thing]… If you can imagine the surprise … How do you deal with that? The way you do, ultimately, is when you put love first and try to put yourself in someone else’s high heels, I suppose. Louboutins, in their case,” Gifford told Hoda Kotb on Today.
Kathie Lee made tasteful comments about Bruce Jenner’s lifestyle choice and didn’t spend any time on negativity or controversy. Being close to the Kardashian/Jenner family, one would think that she had an insider’s perspective of what was really going on. However, she claims that she was just as surprised as the rest of the world when she found out the truth.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Gifford praised Bruce for being brave. After the interview aired, Kathie Lee tweeted out a message to Bruce, that said “God loves you, and so do we.”
