The past 12-months have been an enormous success for Adam Lambert. The former American Idol runner-up is creating a stir with his soon to be released new album, and Lambert came to the attention of a whole new audience when he toured as the frontman of legendary rock band Queen. Lambert won over the sceptics who said that Freddie Mercury could never be replaced.
Adam Lambert won over many Queen fans because his voice is incredible and because he never tried to be Freddie. Instead, Lambert turned in a series of amazing vocal performances, including a huge show at London’s New Year Celebration. Time after time Adam told fans that he adored Freddie as much as they did and paid tribute to Mercury.
Adam Lambert has never hidden his sexuality, and as an openly gay performer, he was able to express a flamboyance and flair that was so typical of Mercury. That said, first and foremost, Lambert is an amazing performer and wants his sexuality to take a back seat to his art. It was recently reported in Inquisitr that Lambert wants his being gay to be less of a label.
Whilst Adam Lambert may be well and truly out of the closet. the Huffington Post reports that Lambert claims that he has slept with a number of Hollywood A-List celebrities who are not. Apparently Adam makes the admission in an interview with Glamour Magazine. Lambert said in the interview that there were many high profile men who were still in the closet, and he says, “I’ve been with a few of them.”
According to Metro, Adam finds it ridiculous that people in the music and movie industries are afraid to come out publicly, and he believes that Tinseltown’s macho culture is to blame.
Adam said, “I’ve been with a few of them. Whether it’s music or acting, you’ve got to remember that those industries are primarily run by men, so maybe it’s about that, but with women being the primary movie-goers and record-buyers, surely it shouldn’t matter so much?”
Fans of 33-year-old Lambert may be more surprised that Adam has admitted that he has also experimented with a woman.
“I think women are beautiful, and I always notice when girls smell really good. Like most gay men, I’m drawn to really confident women, I have slept with a woman before. I did it for the first time when I was 29. It was a random thing but I was very curious. It felt great.”
Lambert refused to name any of those involved. Adam Lambert also recently revealed that Queen’s Brian May appears on his new album and further shows with the band are in the offing.
