It doesn't get any more official than a red carpet event for a White House event. That's the location actress Tea Leoni and her boyfriend, Tim Daly, decided to make their first official appearance as a couple. The couple arrived arm in arm on the red carpet at the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, as reported by People.
Leoni and Daly share the spotlight in CBS' new popular TV series, Madam Secretary. Tea portrays the United States Secretary of State, while Daly fills the role of her professor husband. Could this be a precursor of what's to come in real life?
Tea, 49, has been dating her co-star, Daly, 59 for several months, as reported by Daily Mail. However, the couple have managed to keep it somewhat private until their major debut on Saturday, when there was no doubt the two are a hot item.
Tea and Tim arrived at the dinner with veteran journalist Bob Schieffer and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Schieffer revealed to People that he had called Leoni to ask her to attend the event.
"I called Téa and said, 'How would you like to come?' And I said, you know, we'd love to have you bring Tim along."And that's exactly what Tea did. The foursome posed for many pictures along their stroll down the red carpet. Tea looked classy in her form-fitting black dress, adorned with a simple silver pin and modest slit to the knee. Daly looked sharp in his tux, as well.
Daly held Madeleine Albright's hand in some of the photos that were snapped, as he grinned and said she was his date for the evening. He jokingly said, "We're going to be a hot table."
The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner has become quite the heavy hitter with big name celebrities, politicians, and media gurus. Some of those in attendance included Kerry Washington and Darby Stanchfield from ABC's Scandal, Alfre Woodard, who plays the president on NBC's State of Affairs, The cast from ABC's Modern Family, Donald Trump, Jane Fonda, Katie Couric, and even a couple of Olympians -- Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir.
Tea Leoni was previously married to another actor, David Duchovny, for fourteen years until their divorce was finalized in June, 2014. They had two children during the course of their marriage.
Daly was also previously married to Amy Van Norstrand from 1982 until they divorced in 2010. They have two adult children.
Leoni and Daly seem very content with each other, and must be very happy that Madam Secretary has been renewed for a second season.
