Lori Loughlin Talks ‘Fuller House,’ Says Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s Younger Sister Elizabeth Olsen Should Play Michelle Tanner

Lori Loughlin is the latest former Full House cast member to speak about the upcoming Netflix reboot of the family favorite sitcom, Fuller House.

Lori Loughlin played the character of Aunt Becky, who was married to Uncle Jesse (John Stamos). She admitted that not even she knows if Aunt Becky will be making a permanent return for the spin-off. Loughlin explained to Hollywood Life that she is still negotiating the terms of a possible contract.

“I’ll tell you why. They have been working on this for a while. It’s originally a spin-off idea for Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber. Three girls move into a house to raise DJ’s three boys, so it’s a flip on the original series…I think we would all like to come back if the powers that be are fair to all of us.”

Despite not knowing the future of Aunt Becky’s character, Lori did reveal that the producers are hoping to have a reunion to kick off the series with the entire original cast, according to Fox News.

“Everyone is talking and trying to make that happen, and I think that it will happen. I’m really optimistic, and it would be great to be back together again. I think for the fans it would be nice if we were all together and for us too. We all love each other. We always got along really well. We had a good time making the show.”

Lori Loughlin also spoke about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, saying that she doesn’t know if they would be interested in returning to the show. She said they have moved on from their acting careers and may simply not be interested.

“It doesn’t matter how much money they get paid, they don’t care. I honestly don’t know if they want to do it. I’m sure they’re talking to them. I don’t know what’s going on there. Everyone would love it [if they came back], it would be really nice.”

Even if the Olsen twins decided not to join the original cast, Loughlin told Us Weekly their younger sister Elizabeth would be the perfect person to play the grown-up version of Michelle Tanner.

“I couldn’t pick anyone — maybe their younger sister Lizzie! That would be fun right? She would take over the role. They are all beautiful. They have good genes!”
