‘Once Upon A Time’ Spoiler: Will Regina Save The Day?

Warning: This article may contain Once Upon A Time spoilers.

The recent storyline of Once Upon A Time again teams up Regina (Lana Parrilla) with Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison), as the duo races to New York, upon finding out that Regina’s evil half-sister Zelena has been masquerading as Marian, wife of Robin Hood. Lana Parrilla told TV Guide that, after a lifetime, Regina finally feels fed up over dealing with Zelena’s behavior and races to New York with no real plan.

It seems Regina feels inadequate to the task of saving Robin Hood on her own, because she doesn’t hesitate to enlist the help of Once Upon A Time‘s favorite heroine, Emma. “I need you,” Regina pleads with her unlikely ally. Reluctantly, Emma agrees with the hope that she will also be able to reunite with Lily (Kristin Bauer van Straten), an old friend and, coincidentally enough, Maleficent’s long-lost child.

“She just knows she has to be there to help Robin because right now he doesn’t even know he’s living with the enemy,” the Once Upon A Time star said.

Adding to Regina’s trouble is the fact that leaving Storybrooke, which has long been the setting for most of Once Upon A Time and the place where Regina’s power is at its height, leaves her feeling drained and uncertain.

“When they’re in New York, she doesn’t feel like her magic is pouring out of her, and she’s powerless,” Ms. Parrilla said. “But there’s a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. So these women are like Thelma & Louise, running through this town, and Lily really takes us on an adventure.”

The Once Upon A Time episode is not without humor, most noticeable in Lana Parrilla’s dry wit.

“There’s one little moment when we’re walking through New York in a building and it’s gross and dirty,” the Once Upon A Time actress recalls. “She’s like, ‘I don’t know why I created Storybrooke when I could’ve cursed everyone to come here.'”

Although Ms. Parrilla couldn’t be compelled to tell Once Upon A Time fans how the episode would end, whether or not Operation Save Robin would succeed, she did reveal some interesting teasers about the follow-up episode of Once Upon A Time.

“You will learn something very new about Regina, and you will also get to see Barbara Hershey again (as Cora)… And the Evil Queen is back in that episode as well.”

The next episode of Once Upon A Time airs April 26 on ABC.
