Russell Wilson Is Officially Dating Ciara, But He’s Taking Someone Else To The White House Correspondents Dinner
Russell Wilson may be secretly dating pop singer Ciara, but the Seattle Seahawks quarterback has a different date in mind for the upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner.
In recent days, Wilson was spotted at a Seattle Mariners game with a woman who looked much like Ciara, and the pop star fueled more speculation when she posted a picture on Instagram wearing the same outfit as Wilson’s mystery woman.
Then, on Thursday, reports indicated that Wilson would be taking Ciara to the White House Correspondents Dinner, with a partial guest list obtained by AOL showing a listing for Russell Wilson “and his date Ciara.” But Russell Wilson corrected those rumors in the most adorable way possible.
He posted a video on Facebook dancing with his grandmother along with the caption, “Can’t wait to dance with my beautiful date at the WHCD this weekend! #shesgotmoves #loveugrandma.”
The video originally circulated late last year, showing Russell and his grandmother grooving to an R. Kelly song around Christmas time.
Even though his grandmother may be accompanying him along to the White House, Russell Wilson indeed appears to have a budding romance with Ciara. A source said that the couple is officially dating, though they haven’t taken it public yet.
“It’s still at the beginning stages and it’s very fresh,” a source told E! News. “She thinks he is a complete gentleman and has really enjoyed hanging out with him these past few weeks. It’s constant laughter and fun with them.”
Both Wilson and Ciara are recently single after getting out of long-term relationships.
Wilson and now ex-wife Ashton Meem split up one year ago amid reports that she cheated with his teammate, Golden Tate. Ciara also split from her ex-fiancee, rapper Future, after rumors that he impregnated his mistress.
Ciara didn’t appear to be interested in dating after her split, saying instead she wanted to focus on her infant son.
“It’s about keeping your eyes on the prize. Before I had a child, I had goals. And I still have to accomplish those goals, but now that I have a child, I have more goals to accomplish. So I can’t waste time. I have to go for it. It’s actually pushing me harder, and forward.”
Neither Russell Wilson nor Ciara has confirmed their relationship, but it’s clear that Russell isn’t hiding his love for his grandmother.
