Kim Richards: Dr. Phil Intervention Ends With Meltdown As Bravo’s ‘Sobriety Clause’ Requires Addiction Treatment [Video]

Kim Richards stormed off Dr. Phil MacGraw’s television show set after he joined her children in attempting to stage an intervention. The filmed meltdown followed her highly publicized arrest and questions about whether the 50-year-old former child star’s claims that she had remained sober since rehab were true, reported MSN.

Scheduled to air Tuesday, the episode shows Dr. Phil questioning the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star regarding the specific charges to which she will have to respond in court. Among those charges are battery of a police officer, trespassing, public intoxication, and resisting a police officer.

Kim became highly emotional, to the point of tears, in talking about battling her alcohol addiction.

“I’m beating myself up over this,” she admitted.

Before she exited in a storm of emotions, Kim described her close brush with turning to alcohol for comfort again.

“I poured a drink of vodka, and I thought, ‘Oh my god, what have I done?'” Richards recalled.

That’s when Dr. Phil pounced.

“Are you living a lie telling everybody ‘I’ve been sober for three years’?” demanded Dr. Phil.

The TV shrink also attacked her mothering skills.

“You are drunk in a bar fighting with a cop. That is not good mothering!”

But it was only when Kim’s children entered the staged intervention that she fell apart.

“Is this an intervention? I’m sorry, I can’t!” she exclaimed as she made a rapid get-away.

As for the events leading up to Kim Richards’ arrest, the Beverly Hills Police Department revealed that it began when she caused problems at the chic Beverly Hills Hotel’s restaurant, reported the Wrap.

When staff requested that Kim leave the restaurant, she requested a trip to the bathroom first — but then stayed there. Police arrived and that’s when her life went from bad to worse.

“[She was] displaying symptoms of alcoholic intoxication [and] passively resisted arrest,” reported the police spokesperson.

In addition to swearing at the police, Kim kicked a cop during the booking process.

As the Inquisitr reported, Real Housewives franchise king Andy Cohen denied reports that he enjoys it when cast members have these types of highly publicized problems.

“I hate it, actually. I NEVER root against a RH. I only want the best for them.”

Although Richards abandoned Dr. Phil’s intervention, Bravo has issued an ultimatum, telling the 50-year-old to get addiction treatment and submit to drug testing or be fired, according to Radar Online.

An insider revealed that Kim will have a “sobriety clause” stipulating that to remain on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, she must submit to drug testing and also seek help for alcoholism.
