Lindsay Lohan Marilyn Monroe Sketch Axed by Saturday Night Live

A planned sketch featuring Lindsay Lohan as Marilyn Monroe on last week’s March 3 episode of Saturday Night Live was scrapped at the last minute, the UK’s Daily Mail is reporting.

According to the report, the nixed skit featured 25-year-old Lohan as Monroe and Jon Hamm as U.S. President John F. Kennedy, who had been rumored to be having an affair with the blond bombshell.

The two were speaking to GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum (played by Andy Samberg) who recently said that JFK’s 1960 speech about keeping religion out of politics made him “want to throw up.”

In the sketch – which reportedly made its way from the writing room to live rehearsals, but was cut due to time constraints – Monroe and JFK told Santorum that she had been on birth control provided by Medicare, which makes Santorum vomit.

Digital Spy points out this is not the first time Lohan has imitated an old Hollywood star, and it wont be the last. Besides mimicking Marilyn Monroe in a recent Playboy Magazine photo shoot, Lindsay is also set to play the late Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming Lifetime biopic.

Although Lohan’s hosting stint was deemed as one of the worst in SNL history by critics, it helped the show land the number one ratings slot that night. Additionally, Lohan’s episode is now counted as the second most watched SNL of the season, with NBA legend Charles Barkley taking the top spot.

Despite all the criticism, Lindsay is said to think she did a “great job,” hosting , with sources close to the actress telling TMZ she ‘she feels proud’ of the episode.
