Paralyzed Patient Walks Again On Video, Bailey Murrill Says Faith In God Kept Her Going

When a paralyzed patient walks again on video anyone would be surprised, but Texas teen Bailey Murrill says she purposefully planned it out so that her favorite nurse would receive the shock of her life.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, Bailey’s mom, Becky, posted the video of her “paralyzed” daughter walking again on Facebook, and it quickly went viral.

“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day,” Becky captioned the post.

The whole incident started when the Texas teen was wrestling with her dad at their home when she accidentally landed hard on her back and lost feeling in her legs below the hips. Bailey said doctors at the Zale Lipshy University Hospital in Dallas tried in vain to help their paralyzed patient walk again, but during the whole ordeal Murrill said it was her faith in God that kept her going.

“The whole time I had this attitude I would leave it in his hands and be prepared for what he decided,” she said.

During those 11 days, Bailey Murrill says she bonded with the nurse in the video over their shared beliefs as Christians. Then on April 11, Bailey was undergoing physical therapy when she suddenly felt a sensation within her legs, and the physical therapist told her that her leg’s hamstring was flexing.

“We waited it out and the same way the feeling left my legs it returned,” she said.

Bailey and her family were excited at the change, and she decided to surprise her nurse by being the miraculous paralyzed patient who walks again.

“She had brought me so much joy at a time I needed it that I decided to bring her some,” Bailey explained.

Before the events that took place on video, the unnamed nurse was apparently stuck in an elevator for an hour, and she had heard from others that Bailey was looking for her. So, when the apparently still paralyzed patient walked right out of her wheelchair, all the nurse could do was scream and cry out, “Thank you Lord! Thank you Lord!”

“I’m so happy for you. I’m so happy for you,” the nurse told her patient. “See there, I told you. Just keep the faith.”

According to NY Daily News, Bailey Murril has been released from the hospital since April 14, but she says doctors are still uncertain what caused her to become paralyzed in the first place.
