By now you’ve heard about the Full House spin-off show that’s coming to Netflix. The show will focus on the lives of D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and next door neighbor Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) as mothers.
Star Cameron-Bure explained the premise of the show to Us Weekly.
“The premise is that D.J. — she was married, she’s widowed now — but she has two boys that are 12 and 7. She’s pregnant with her third [and] her husband passed away, just like the original show — the mom passed away. So she needs help so she asks her sister and her best friend, Kimmy and Stephanie, to come help her raise her boys.”
As of right now, most of other original cast members are under negotiations with Netflix. As the Inquisitr reported, John Stamos will be taking on the role of a producer and will guest star on the 13-episode order. With most of the cast in talks, the youngest Tanner daughter is up in the air. It’s been asked if twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will guest star on the show.
When it was originally announced that the show was happening, we doubted that they would make a guest appearance on the show, due to the fact that they left acting for the fashion industry years ago, and have seemingly separated themselves from Full House nostalgia.
That said, it looks like a guest appearance might be in the works. Mary-Kate Olsen told Women’s Wear Daily just the other day about the show. “We just found out about it today. I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening.”
Ashley Olsen interjected, “I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn’t even talk about it. I’m going to call [Saget] and get his perspective.”
The fact that they’re in discussions is extremely hopeful that we might get to see Michelle Tanner back with her sisters. Even cast member Lori Loughlin seemed doubtful that either sister would return for a guest appearance.
“It doesn’t matter how much money they get paid, they don’t care. I honestly don’t know if they want to do it. I’m sure they’re talking to them. I don’t know what’s going on there. Everyone would love it [if they came back], it would be really nice.”
Cameron-Bure wasn’t sure if they would come on the show either. “I don’t know about the twins, but it would be great if one of them came back… I’m not holding my breath. I’m not sure if they’re going to do it, but we really only need one.”
Do you think Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will return to Full House?
