Richards’ Family Blamed For Kim’s Recent Arrest & Relapse

The Richards family was recently blamed for Kim’s recent relapse. According to Kim’s ex-boyfriend, Ken Blumenfeld, 51, whom fans met years ago on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim’s issues stem from her family’s pressure and criticism.

“I think her family is a huge portion of all her problems. It’s overwhelming and horrific to be around—the out of control criticism,” Blumenfeld revealed to Radar Online on April 22 of the Richards family.

Blumenfeld was arrested in 2009 for DUI, and the Richards family was reportedly not on board with his relationship with Kim. During the show, Kyle Richards claimed she was “never a fan” of Blumenfeld, and once they split, she was happy to see him out of Kim’s life.

“The things they did to me … they are the kind of people it’s judgment of every little single thing. It’s the worst possible scenario [for Kim]. I [hope] she moves forward, but I doubt it with all the problems with her family that are imposed on her.”

Blumenfeld, who is now engaged, reportedly kept in touch with Kim up until recently, when things between her and the Richards family reportedly took a turn for the worse.

Upon hearing about Kim’s arrest for public intoxication, trespassing, battery on an officer and resisting an officer, Blumenfeld said he was “not surprised. She has some personal issues.”

“I wish her well and hope she’s happy and healthy and moving forward in a positive way, but I’m not in a position to help with that travel forward because I’ve moved on with my life.”

The Richards family has yet to publicly speak out on Kim’s arrest, but soon, she will be appearing on Dr. Phil, where she will come clean about her recent misstep.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the Richards family hasn’t taken kindly to her arrest. According to People Magazine, her children are especially disappointed.

“Kim’s children are very disappointed in her. They’re so upset. This is hard for them.”

According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was arrested at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel on April 16, and “was displaying symptoms of alcohol intoxication including slurred speech and belligerent insolent behavior cursing at the officers and passively resisted arrest.”

Although the Richards family wasn’t with her at the time, they did reunite with her a short while after her arrest, and were by her side when she filmed her segment for the Dr. Phil show.
