Amber Anderson, Christian Life Academy Teacher, Had Sex With 15-Year-Old Student, Police Charge

On Tuesday, Amber Leigh Anderson, a 27-year-old teacher at the private Christian Life Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, became the latest female teacher to get herself arrested in connection with an alleged sexual relationship with a student. In Anderson’s case, she’s accused of having relations two years ago with a 15-year-old boy.

When she was arrested, according to a police report, she apologized, calling the alleged multiple instances of sexual intercourse with the boy “a mistake,” telling police she felt sorry for “taking the victim’s innocence.”

Cases of adult women schoolteachers who for some reason end up having sex with underage male students have been in the news with alarming frequency over recent months.

In January, Melody Lippert, 38, and Michelle Chirelli, 30, of Covina, California, were arrested on charges that they had sex with multiple male students during a school beach trip, and during another beach outing that was not school-affiliated.

Last October, Rachel Respess, 24, and Shelly Dufresne, 32, were arrested on suspicion that they engaged in a sexual threesome with a 16-year-old male student at the Louisiana High School, where they both taught.

Later in October, Durham, North Carolina, dance teacher Michelle Smith White, 37, faced accusations that she took “indecent liberties” with a 15-year-old female student, including bringing the girl into her home to engage in three-way relations with White and her husband. White even got a tattoo of the teen girl’s face, according to police.

But those are just a few examples of the unfortunate trend into which Amber Anderson is now accused of falling.

The police reports states that in 2013, the mother of the alleged victim became concerned about text messages exchanged between her son and Anderson. A subsequent investigation revealed that after the texting relationship between Anderson and the boy escalated into exchanges of nude photos, the two took the relationship to a whole new level.

The boy would meet Anderson at a fast food restaurant not far from his home, where she would pick him up in her car and take him to her home where they reportedly engaged in intercourse on repeated occasions.

Though according to some reports, the boy’s mother approached the school’s administration with her concerns and even confronted Anderson directly, Christian Life Academy lead pastor Jere Mililli claimed ignorance.

“I do not know anything about this,” he told a local TV station when he heard the news that Amber Anderson had been arrested. “This is the first day that I have heard anything of this nature. We would have taken care of it then and she would no longer have been working for us that day I heard.”
