Reginald Augustus: Man Arrested After 6-Year-Old Girl Claims She’s ‘His Girlfriend’

One Louisiana man is behind bars after a 6-year-old girl claimed to be “his girlfriend.” According to WAFB, the Baton Rouge Police Department arrested 23-year-old Reginald Romale Augustus after he was accused of indecent behavior with juveniles.

It has been reported that the allegations derived from a conversation between the unnamed 6-year-old and her mother. The conversation reportedly took place in August of 2014. When Augustus was mentioned during the conversation, the little girl insisted that he has a “girlfriend.” “Reginald does have a girlfriend. I am his girlfriend,” the 6-year-old reportedly said.

The mother corrected her daughter by clarifying that he did not, but the little girl was adamant about her beliefs. The little girl’s seemingly odd declaration prompted the mother to further inquire. When the mother asked her daughter if Augustus had ever “touched her,” the little girl replied with shocking allegations.

According to the police report, the little girl revealed Augustus touched her “between her legs when she was wearing pajamas.” She also stated that he “took her hand and placed it between his legs.” The little girl’s confession led to the mother asking the other children if the home if Augustus has ever touched them.

Surprisingly, the 10-year-old girl also came forward with allegations against Augustus. She recounted one incident in particular when she shared a blanket with Augustus. Then, she also admitted he’d touched her under her pajamas as well. The 10-year-old reportedly asked Augustus to stop, and he did. But, she never told anyone out of fear that he’d “get in trouble,” reports The Advocate.

On Sunday, April 19, Augustus has been arrested and charged with two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles. He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, and his bail is currently set at $50,000
