Sarah Palin Movie Debuts Saturday: SarahPAC Releases Mock Trailer [Video]

HBO’s highly anticipated movie about Sarah Palin will make its debut this Saturday. “Game Change” follows the story of Palin’s meteoric rise during the 2008 presidential campaign and unsurprisingly, Palin and John McCain aren’t too pleased with the film.

McCain (who is played by Ed Harris in the movie) said that he didn’t have high hopes for the movie since it was based on a book (“Game Change” by journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann) that he believes portrayed his campaign unfairly.

McCain told FOX Radio’s Brian Kilmeade that he wouldn’t be watching the movie and believes that it treats Sarah Palin unfairly. McCain said:

“I won’t watch it. I know it’s based on a book that is totally unfair and untrue, especially to Sarah Palin. I want to repeat, if I could, my admiration and appreciation for Sarah Palin. She energized our party. I mean, let’s have some straight talk – she energized more people than I did. She is a good and decent person and this continuing maligning of her by the liberal left is something that is reprehensible to me.”

Palin also said that she wouldn’t be wasting her time by watching the new movie. Palin said:

“I’m not going to go see the movie, neither is the good Sen. John McCain. We’ve discussed this and realized that Hollywood lies are Hollywood lies. They’re going to do what they can to drum up their money and their machine, and their machine happens to be a very pro-leftist, pro-Barack Obama machine there at HBO that created this movie. And those campaign staffers who essentially threw John McCain under the bus, I think that they should feel some shame, and they should feel some embarrassment, because the movie is based on a false narrative, as you can see in the trailer.”

Sarah Palin’s SuperPAC is also unsurprisingly upset about the new film. SarahPac released a mock trailer for the new Sarah Palin movie that “presents a history that never happened.”

Here’s the mock trailer of “Game Change” from SarahPac.

Julianne Moore, who plays Sarah Palin in the new movie, says that “Game Change” is a fair portrayal of Palin during the 2008 campaign. Moore said that the movie shows Palin as a strong but inexperience politician. Moore said that the movie doesn’t criticize Palin as much as it criticizes America’s need to have an attractive and charismatic leader.

Moore said:

“This is less of a story about Sarah Palin than it is those 60 days between her pick and the loss. We’re really trying to tell that story. And it really is: How do we choose our leaders? Why is it we’re so drawn to magnetism, charisma, good looks, all those things that movie stars have. Do our leaders need to have those too?”
