‘Star Wars Battlefront’ Available For Pre-Order, To Include Battle Of Jakku
Star Wars Battlefront is now available for pre-order and will include the first Battle of Jakku, the new planet introduced at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim last week.
There are two versions of the video game that will be released on November 17, just ahead of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens wide release in the U.S. Those who purchase Star Wars Battlefront will be among a few who will witness the Battle of the desert-like planet, Jakku.
“(The Battle of Jakku is) the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on a remote desert planet in the Outer Rim. Taking place in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor, players will experience the events that created the massive, battle-scarred landscape of Jakku shown in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Those pre-ordering Star Wars Battlefront will have the option of ordering the standard or deluxe versions and will also have access to delivery on the date of release.
Jakku is the planet in which on of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters, Rey (Daisy Ridley), lives, as revealed by Ridley herself during Star Wars Celebration last Wednesday. Wookiepedia has a short summary on the character.
“Rey is a female scavenger who drove a speeder bike on the desert planet Jakku approximately thirty years after the Battle of Endor. She was dressed in tan, ragged clothes, including a scarf around her head and a visor — once part of a Stormtrooper’s helmet — covered with sand.”
With a little more background on Jakku, those who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront will enjoy some the following features, according to Amazon. Gamers will be able to experience some amazing digital replicas of the original Star Wars models and visit classic planets from the original trilogy, which will transport you to that galaxy far, far away.
In a addition, those who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront can engage in multi-player epic battles on planets such as Hoth, Endor, and Tatooine. Also, they can fight on the previously unexplored planet of Sullust.
Users will also pilot a diverse set of ground-based vehicles in exciting aerial battles and play as some of the most memorable characters in the Star Wars universe, including Darth Vader and Boba Fett. They will also encounter a variety of beloved characters from the original trilogy, such as C-3PO and R2-D2.
Players who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront can fight the Battle of Jakku one week early. All other players will get access to this content on December 8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens flies into theaters on December 18.
