For the entire final season of the long-running TV series, Powers was part of the main cast. The woman who played his TV wife, actress Bern Nadette Stanis, shared her condolences and heartfelt words in reference to Ben Powers’ death on her Facebook page Thursday.
“My condolences goes out to the family of Ben Powers who past a few days ago. He was a great actor and great friend who is gone too soon. He will be missed by many. Until next lifetime my friend.”
The sincere message was posted along with an old picture of the two Good Times stars together. It looks like it could have been a cast photo that was first taken during the original series run.
The death of actor Ben Powers marks the second death of a Good Times cast member. Actress Esther Rolle, the woman who played matriarch Florida Evans, died on November 17, 1988.
