Zayn Malik Makes First Public Appearance: Singer Debuts Shaved Head, Nose Ring
Zayn Malik made his first public appearance since leaving One Direction. The solo singer stepped out with his mom at the 2015 Asian Awards in London on Friday, according to E! News. The news site reminded fans that it’s Zayn’s first appearance since quitting the successful boy band. Instead of bringing his fiancée, Perrie Edwards, as his date, he brought his mother instead. It looks like Zayn is trying hard to win over his fans — and it seems to be working.
Malik reportedly attended the award show with his music producer Naughty Boy, with whom he’s rumored to be working on a solo album. The heartthrob wore a sleek black suit with a white button down shirt and a matching tie, according to the Mirror. His mom, Trisha, wore a glamorous black gown with silver beading. Malik appeared happy as he flashed a bright smile for the cameras as he was reportedly mobbed by fans, who waited for his arrival.
Malik debuted a shaved head and a new nose ring. It didn’t take long for Directioners to share the photos of the solo singer on Twitter. Some fans were even lucky enough to take a selfie with Malik.
Directioners even debated if Zayn looks better with a shaved head. Some fans even admitted that they were attracted to him because of his long black hair. Directioners are having a meltdown about Zayn’s hair as they’re trying to figure out if they’re still attracted to him.

It looks like Malik is trying hard to change his image since leaving One Direction. He no longer wants to be known as the heartthrob or the attractive guy who sings. Of course, Directioners went into a meltdown on Twitter once they saw Malik’s new nose ring.
