Leah Messer-Calvert appears to be spiraling out of control as her marriage to Jeremy Calvert reportedly comes to an end.
According to an April 17 report by OK! Magazine, Leah Messer-Calvert is allegedly taking sleeping pills frequently — and that’s not all. The site claimed In Touch Weekly recently revealed Leah Messer-Calvert has been taking “the anxiety-reducing Xanax, narcotic pain meds Lortab, and has been dependent on Vicodin and Percocet since the birth of daughter Adalynn in 2013.”
The magazine went on to report that if and when Leah Messer-Calvert enters rehab, her estranged husband, Jeremy, will care for their 2-year-old daughter, Adalynn, and file for “primary custody” of the child. As for her other children, 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleaah, Leah Messer-Calvert is reportedly concerned about how a possible rehab stint could impact her ongoing custody battle.
As fans of Teen Mom 2 saw last year, Leah Messer-Calvert’s ex-husband, Corey Simms, along with new wife Miranda, filed for full custody of the children after seeing her on-screen behavior reach a new low. Early on in Season 5, Leah Messer-Calvert was seen slurring her words and nearly nodding out after admitting to taking prescribed medication. She also told her husband she felt “druggy.”
Leah Messer-Calvert reportedly turned to drugs during hard times and didn’t mean to get addicted. According to the report, Leah Messer-Calvert allegedly uses the drugs when her husband is away for long periods of time, as well as when she’s feeling the pressures of dealing with Ali’s medical condition alone (Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy years ago, which will eventually restrict her to a wheelchair).
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Leah Messer-Calvert’s potential rehab stay would likely be paid for by MTV — but only if she agreed to chronicle her journey on the show. Earlier this week, a source revealed the following to In Touch Weekly, via Radar Online.
“She’s confessed to Jeremy that she has a problem, and knows she has no other choice than to go to rehab immediately.
“MTV would foot the bill and force Leah into rehab because the network loves her. They last thing they want to see is her going down the same dark path that [co-stars] Amber Portwood and Jenelle Evans did.”
Both Portwood and Evans went to rehab during filming and shared the experience with their viewers. Since then, they have both been sober.
The magazine also alleged Leah Messer-Calvert had “been overdosing,” although that was not elaborated on.
Leah Messer-Calvert is currently filming Teen Mom 2 Season 6.
